KILLER NUMBER 1 : stroke and coronary heart disease

You know, the number one killer disease in the world's bully ? If cancer or diabetes is your answer , be prepared to face the facts of the WHO following : Every two seconds , one person in the world died of cardiovascular disease . Yes , cardiovascular disease has been ordained as a major cause of death and disability worldwide . Let's identify cardiovascular disease so that we can determine the appropriate steps to face this global threat . According to the Chairman of the Society of Hypertension Indonesia and Senior cardiologists from the Hospital Cardiovascular Harapan Kita , Dr. Arieska Ann Soenarta , Sp.JP ( K ) , cardiovascular disease is a term for disorders that cause heart disease ( cardio ) and blood vessels ( vascular ) . There are three forms of cardiovascular disease , namely :
Coronary heart disease is a disease of the blood vessels that supply the heart. The implication includes myocardial infarction (heart attack), angina (chest pain), and arrhythmias (abnormal heart rhythm).
Cerebrovascular disease is a disease of the blood vessels supplying the brain. The implication include stroke (brain cell damage due to lack of blood supply) and transient ischemic attack (temporary damage to vision, speech, taste or movement).
Peripheral vascular disease is a disease of the blood vessels supplying the arms and legs that result in pain for a while to come and go, as well as pain due to leg muscle cramps during exercise.
Real Impact of Cardiovascular Disease
A full translation of the previously mentioned facts are as follows, occurred one death from cardiovascular disease every two seconds, every five seconds a heart attack and stroke due every six seconds. Each year an estimated 17 million people die of cardiovascular disease.
In 2005, the death rate from cardiovascular diseases reached 17.5 million. Approximately 7.6 million of which occur because of coronary heart disease and 5.7 million due to stroke. It is estimated that global deaths from cardiovascular disease reached about 25 million by 2020.
While approximately 10 million people in the world who survived a stroke each year , more than 5 million of them suffered permanent disability , thus becoming a burden for families and society . In 2020 , cardiovascular disease is estimated to occupy a higher position in the top infectious disease as the biggest cause of disability worldwide .
Identify Causes of Cardiovascular Disease

Heart attacks and strokes are mainly caused by atherosclerosis ( a buildup of fat ) in the blood vessel walls of the arteries that supply the heart and brain . Fatty deposits that cause the formation of lesions that accumulate over time will enlarge and thicken so that narrows the arteries and impede blood flow . Eventually blood vessels harden and are less flexible .
Cardiovascular disorders caused by atherosclerosis is associated with reduced blood flow because of the heart and the brain does not receive enough blood supply . The next blood flow resistance can result in more serious cardiovascular episodes including heart attack and stroke .
Blood blockage can also cause a tear in the arterial network which will then swell and may inhibit the entire blood vessel resulting in heart attack or stroke .
Beware Symptoms and Risk Factors for Cardiovascular Disease
One thing to watch out for, individuals with cardiovascular disease in general do not experience symptoms. Marks the beginning can be a heart attack or stroke. Common symptoms of a heart attack include pain or discomfort in the chest, arms, left shoulder, elbows, jaw or back. Other symptoms include shortness of breath, nausea and vomiting, a sense of drift or fainting, sweating, and pale.

Common symptoms of stroke is weakening the face, hands and feet, often on one side of the body. Other symptoms include sudden episodes such as numbness in the face, hands or feet, confusion, difficulty speaking and understanding speech, difficult to see the next or both eyes, difficulty walking, dizziness, loss of balance, severe headache without cause, and fainting.
There are a number of factors that cause a person's risk of cardiovascular disease. These risk factors are divided into two groups, which can be controlled and which can not be controlled. 80 percent of coronary heart disease and cerebrovascular disease are caused by risk factors that can be controlled.
So, What to Do?

Indeed, nothing could be done intervention against risk factors that can not be controlled. Age, gender, and family history of cardiovascular disease is impossible to change. The next obvious step is how to manage the risk factors that can be controlled.
In fact, about 75 percent of cardiovascular diseases worldwide are caused by conventional risk factors including obesity, lack of physical activity, and tobacco use (smoking). While in developed countries, one third of cardiovascular disease caused by five risk factors namely tobacco, alcohol, high blood pressure, cholesterol, and obesity.

It is clear that the risk factors that can be controlled more dominant contributing cause of cardiovascular disease. Although the treatment can be performed on almost all forms of cardiovascular disease, including hypertension, high cholesterol, and diabetes mellitus, but it passed away to the individual to run a healthy lifestyle. As far as possible avoid the risk factors that can lead to cardiovascular disease is a step The best that can be done

Functions Of A Food Safety Consultant

A food safety consultant is counted among the most important people in the society today. Food processing plants and factories dealing with consumable goods needed regular checkups by the consultants to ensure high quality standards. These standards should be maintained by farmers, transporting agencies, storage facilities and retailers. A disciplined approach to continuous change or improvement of quality product is developed.
Regular auditing is the major description which gives out key recommendations which must be followed. The recommendations normally conform to the high level of well documented technological know-how. Among the examples of the solutions provided that assist in tracking product development are data stream applications that help keep consumers at the same pace with their providers. This activates faster and professional response to challenges accessible through the respective websites.
Seminars, exhibitions and internet trade-show interfaces are often used for continuous educational session to the clients. Processing plants receive information on the best handling methods and the new inventions making way in the markets. Exhibitions attract masses and provide perfect opportunities for efficient interactions where nearly all doubts are cleared and local improvements are openly shared. This helps in keeping the entire industry abreast with the most current technology.
Imported and exported goods also need standardizations and approvals from consulting agents. Standardization of products ensures homogeneous quality standards throughout the involved nations. Foodstuffs must be packaged in accordance with the hygiene protocols and the surrounding conditions must be conducive. Shipment and transporting vessels must also comply with the best and healthy guidelines as stipulated.
Supplying farmers and plantation owners have a lot to benefit too. They are on a continual training of the best practices and range of improvements that are of importance to their respective sectors. Researched and approved pesticides and fertilizers are taught to the farmers and some are distributed enhancing the uniformity of the produces. Processing factories emphasize on hygiene measures and appropriate handling methods.
Fruits and vegetables are perishable products that are treated with strict measures. The warehouses have to be constructed in a manner that allows fresh air to circulate in them. This ensures that the product remains palatable and safe for human consumption. Transporting and shipment vessels must pass a series of certifications and must have a knowledgeable crew. The experts who conduct the operations on the firm do not take any of the regulations for granted.
There are benefits which accompany this safety measure. The entire customer base is protected from fraudsters. Corporate assets and the reputation of the company are also protected as the agents collaborate with legal bodies in ensuring policy implementation as well as fair penalties to defaulters. The growing litigious nature of the current business climate is addressed through the program. Customer experience is enhanced as they are provided with dependable and satisfying products.
The skilled personnel are normally chosen to operate the standard bureaus which are responsible in setting the international standards. These bureaus are set up in all nations so as to regulate the locally consumed products, exports and imports. Food safety consultant agencies are therefore useful bodies which ensure that the consumers take healthy products worldwide.

kumpulan cerita hatiku

terkadang hidup ini indah
terkadang penuh dengan luka
kadang penuh dengan tawa
sekali penuh dengn linagan air mata
          bergerak lunglai bagai tak bertenaga
          walau hati ingin rasanya bercerita
          tentang pahitnya hidup dikala sengsara
          hanya angan yang terbang mengangkasa
                           sesekali aku terpaku menatap wajahmu
                           yang kurasa sangat menggoda hatiku
hingga angan ingin selalu dekat denganmu
ingin aku bicara padamu sekali saja
                       untuk ungkapkan perasaan ini
tapi sekali lagi aku tak mampu bicara
karena perasaan ini telah mengunci jiwa dan hati ini

ALTERNATIVE LIVELIHOODS

1. What is an alternative livelihood?
An alternative livelihood provides local communities, who are involved in
unsustainable resource utilization, with a sustainable livelihood. This
sustainable livelihood must be profitable, not harmful to the environment,
and should be able to continue for a long period of time. People who take
part in activities that destroy the environment, such as blast fishing or reef
gleaning, need to switch to an alternative livelihood before there is nothing
left for future generations to use and enjoy.
2. What kind of alternative livelihoods are being developed in
Komodo National Park?
Pelagic fisheries, seaweed culture and grouper mariculture are three
profitable alternative livelihood programs that are being introduced to
residents in and around Komodo National Park.
3.1: Pelagic Fisheries
1. What is pelagic fisheries?
Pelagic fisheries is the capture of fishes that live in the open ocean, such as
schools of tuna and mackrel.
2. Why is pelagic fisheries a good alternative livelihood in Komodo
National Park?
Not only are pelagic fishes abundant in the waters around Komodo National
Park, but they also have a relatively high market value, especially when kept
fresh on ice and exported to markets in Bali or major cities in Indonesia. As
traditional means of pelagic fishing can only exploit a small portion of these
oceanic species, over-exploitation is less likely to occur compared to reef
fishing.
3. What other income can local villagers create from pelagic fisheries?
Pelagic fishes can be processed in several traditional ways and sold to
markets. Some examples are: steamed tuna (ikan pindang), fish balls, dried
fish, smoked fish and fish floss (abon).
4. How do traditional fishermen catch pelagic fish?
There are many ways to catch pelagic fish. Fishermen can use a hook and
line lowered from a still boat using dead or live fish as bait. Or, they can drag
a hook and line from behind a moving boat using real fish as bait. Some
fishermen attract pelagic fish by using strips of plastic that look like squid, or
shiny metal objects that resemble small silverfish. Others use fish aggregating
devices (FADs).
5. What is a fish aggregation device (FAD?)
A fish aggregation device is any solid object that floats in the water.
Fishermen anchor FADs in deep water to attract large schools of fish so they
are easy to catch with hook and line or nets.

What kind of coral reef resource issues are there in Komodo National Park?

The coral reef resources of Komodo National Park are most seriously
threatened by fishing communities from Sape, South Flores and Sulawesi
who reap a stunning 83% of the fishing yields from Komodo National Park.
One of the largest threats to the reef resources of the Park by these outside
groups is over-fishing through the use of hookah compressors. Because
hookah compressors are used for destructive fishing practices, the local
government has outlawed this fishing gear. Cyanide fishing and blast-fishing,
which are performed in conjunction with hookah diving still persists although
the incidents of blast fishing have dropped 80% since 1996 when
enforcement patrols became active in the Park. Various other fishing gear
such as bottom long-lines and heavy hook-and-line also threaten to decimate
predatory fish populations such as sharks and groupers. The use of gill nets
threaten many kinds of fish, turtles and marine mammals. Reef gleaning by
Park residents is also a problem on shallow reefs in and around the Park
although this destructive activity seems to be decreasing over recent years.
Increasing marine pollution and tourism, on the other hand, may threaten
the coral reefs in Komodo National Park if coastal development and tourism
development is not managed properly.
2. What is over-fishing?
Simply put, over-fishing is taking too many fish or other
animals from the sea than nature can reproduce. When adult
populations of fish or other marine animal species become
too low, they can no longer breed in effective numbers and
these animals may be at risk of local extinction. Fishing in
spawning aggregation sites is particularly hazardous to fish
populations because breeding adults are eliminated over a
very short period of time. Over-fishing not only makes it
more difficult for people to continue to find food
and earn an income, but the elimination
of even one species of fish or marine
animal from a marine
ecosystem can have a
negative chain-effect on
the rest of the sea.
